Printing Industries, Industrial Baking and Food Packaging, Manufacturing
GearClean’s dry ice blasting services are an efficient and cost-effective way for industries to achieve their cleaning needs. This revolutionary green cleaning technology can be applied to many different cleaning situations and replaces traditional cleaning methods that require machines to be disassembled and/or expose employee hazardous solvents and cleaners. Maintaining clean equipment and facilities allows equipment to operator cooler and more efficiently leading to improved uptime. Dry ice blasting supports your company’s Total productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S and ISO 14001 initiatives and goals.
Industries are continually facing pressure to improve quality and reduce equipment downtime. At the same time there is an increased focus on the global environmental impact of industrial production. New environmental regulations and corporate green initiatives have industry focused on minimize waste. Accumulation of dust and debris on equipment and in facilities contributes to product quality issues, reduces equipment effectiveness and useful life, and can create a fire and explosion hazards.

GearClean’s dry ice blasting process replaces traditional cleaning methods such as power washing, sand blasting, solvent cleaning or just plain labor. Dry ice blasting eliminates the need for corrosive or hazardous chemicals reducing employee’s exposure to those chemicals and reducing hazardous waste disposal costs. Machines and equipment can be cleaned in place without time consuming disassembly, in some cases cleaning can be accomplished without interrupting production, increasing the efficiency of the cleaning process and leading to increased up-time.
Dry Ice Blasting is non-conductive and non-abrasive meaning it can be used without damaging active electrical, molds or mechanical parts and without creating a fire hazard. Dry ice blasting is approved by the EPA, USDA & FDA, and is non-toxic, non-hazardous and inhibits mold & bacteria growth. Dry ice cleaning is safe to use on food processing equipment as it has been effectively used in EPA, USDA, FDA, AIB and GFSI inspected/certified facilities.

* Upon contact, traditional blasting materials become contaminated when used to clean hazardous substances and objects. These blasting materials are then secondary wastes classified as toxic substances and require appropriate safe disposal.
In addition to being clean and safe, it is also important to remember that dry ice is obtained as a byproduct of other industrial processes - i.e. it is made from reclaimed CO2. Dry ice cleaning is not only an efficient and cost effective alternative to traditional cleaning methods, it is truly, and completely, environmentally friendly!
Dry ice blasting is a versatile technology that can be used to remove production residues, release agents, contaminants, paints, oils and biofilms and other general cleaning applications. It can be as gentle as dusting smoke damage from books or as aggressive as removing weld slag from tooling. Dry ice blasting is effective alternative in a variety of industries that include but are not limited to:
- Manufacturing Operations
- Food Processing and Packaging Operations
- Rubber and Plastic Molding Operations
- Printing Operations
- Medical Operations
