Oil and gas companies are continually driving to improve efficiency, operate in a safe manner and reduce their impact on the environment. Water is without a doubt one of our most precious resources, and has a multitude of functional uses. Water has been utilized practically forever as an effective medium to conduct all manner of cleaning operations. Ironically, because of water’s amazing versatility we are constantly striving to conserve it and limit our consumption of it in industrial operations. Traditional cleaning methods such as pressure washing utilize large quantities of water and generate secondary waste that must be dealt with. The costs, time, and environmental impacts of dealing with the secondary wastes reduce the efficiency of the operations.
Dry Ice Cleaning is a perfect fit in the oil and gas industry. In the many cases this technology is an ideal replacement for traditional pressure washing as it eliminates the need for cleaning water, eliminates the disposal of that same water at the completion of the operation and eliminates the transportation costs and transportation impacts that the supply and disposal of water create. Cost benefit analysis has shown Dry Ice Cleaning to be more cost effective than traditional pressure washing

GearClean has an extensive training and safety program to ensure work is completed with the highest degree of safety. The operational and cost effectiveness of Dry Ice Cleaning make this technology a valuable resource. The tremendous reduction in water usage, the elimination of additional waste and the reduced environmental impacts truly make Dry Ice Cleaning a perfect resource for the oil and gas industry.
Dry Ice Cleaning is a non-abrasive, nonflammable and nonconductive environmentally friendly cleaning method that generates no secondary wastes. Dry ice Cleaning uses compressed air to accelerate frozen carbon dioxide (CO2) "dry ice" pellets to a high velocity. When the dry ice contacts the contaminated surface at supersonic speeds it sublimates creating mini-explosions on the surface that lift the undesirable contaminates off the underlying substrate.
